KONGSBERG DIGITAL SIMULATORS TO ENHANCE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR ZAMBOANGA CITY STATE COLLEGE

Kongsberg Digital (KDI) has further cemented its considerable presence in the Philippines with a new contract win. Under the terms of the freshly-signed agreement, KDI will supply the campus of Zamboanga City State College of Marine Sciences and Technology with a complete package of full mission and desktop K-Sim Navigation and K-Sim Engine simulators, providing state-of-the-art simulation of bridge and engine room environments. This substantial delivery of integrated, next-generation technology is scheduled for October 2021.

I’ve listened in and participated in several conferences and webinars these past months covering different topics related to digitalization in the energy industry, including the dilemma on how to maximize value with digital twins. ‘Should my business develop a customized solution or acquire an existing one?’ I daresay that there does seem to be a consensus emerging that a ‘hybrid’ approach to the construction and implementation of digital twins could be the ideal one.

Kongsberg Digital continues to expand its application offerings on Kognifai Marketplace by adding VESPER, a tool for optimizing operational efficiency through advanced modeling and analytics. VESPER support current environmental reporting like IMO DCS and EU MRV and will also cover future regulatory requirements, including calculation, monitoring and trending of the CII.

BKK NETT ONE STEP CLOSER TO ENABLING THE GREEN TRANSITION OF ENERGY SYSTEMS WITH KOGNITWIN GRID

Through the research project KogniGrid, Kongsberg Digital has investigated how digital twins can be used to ensure optimal operation of power grids. As a result, Kongsberg Digital recently launched a digital twin for power grids, called Kognitwin Grid. BKK Nett, have now signed an agreement on a six-month R&D project to further  develop and test Kognitwin Grid.

TENSIO TO UTILIZE DIGITAL TWIN SERVICE KOGNITWIN GRID

The research project KogniGrid, investigating the potential for digital twin assistance and operation of power grids is recently finalized. The result is Kongsberg Digital’s newly commercialized digital twin for power grids, Kognitwin Grid. Tensio has now signed up for a six-month trial of the new SaaS product.
