The signing of the MOU found place at the shipping exhibition Posedonia earlier this month. DNV also signed an MOU with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).
Building upon the ongoing Data infrastructure (D-inf) type approval projects which Kongsberg Digital is currently undertaking with DNV, the partners decided to deepen the cooperation with the new MOU. The MOU is aimed at enhancing DNV’s D-Inf rules and supporting greater uptake by the industry. Kongsberg Digital will actively contribute to the development of the D-Inf rules,providing valuable feedback on the current rules as well as future versions.

Increasing the availability of high-quality and trustworthy data can build new businesses and enhance the industry’s drive towards improved maintenance, fuel consumption, safety, and more efficient end-to-end logistic chains.”
Earlier this year, Kongsberg Digital’s Vessel Insight was awarded the industry’s first type approval for vessel end-to-end data infrastructure from DNV.
